Hey Resonators!
It is has been quite some time since you visited, we wrote and we all got together on the world wide web!
But here we are and we are looking forward to sharing with you once again! So here’s what has happened since the last time we posted:
- Easter happened in a BIG way at APC! Five performances over 7 days, 9 services over 4 days on our main campus and satellites and thousands of people hearing about Jesus. It was an awesome time!
- Pastor Chris and Becca are having another baby. Yup, that’s public knowledge now.
- Most of us are out of school now. Bring on the summer!!
- The political landscape of Canada changed completely with the PC being a full majority and the NDP as the official opposition.
- Will and Kate are married. Jon and Kate still aren’t.
- Obama is up and Osama is dead.
- The Canucks FINALLY beat the Hawks
- Michael Scott is out of The Office…so are Iggy and Gilles.
- The iPad 2 was worth the line!
This upcoming month at Resonate, we’ll be looking at The Voice: Dealing With Discouragement and Learning How Lift One Another Up. It seems to be a great way to move along after celebrating Christ’s resurrction, right? I mean Jesus didn’t rise from them dead so we could be mean to one another right?!
Exactly!
The opening night to this series is this Sunday night at 6 PM in room 222 at APC. As always, bring your smart phones (or iPod touches) as we’ll be making youversion available.
See you there!
Hey everyone.
By now you’ve probably passed by five of six people who have said they are giving something up for Lent, be it coffee, twitter or video games. The objective of Lent is to give up something important for a while (40 days) to refocus our lives on God. We’re a day into it and we got a cool resource from our friend Ben Johnson, a student ministries pastor in the GTA called the Lent Experiential Calendar. On it, there are different things you can do everyday to serve others, grow your prayer life and refocus your attention on God. It’s cool too because it pushes us to take some risks with our faith.
This is here only if you want to use it, okay? Don’t feel like you HAVE to. However, this may be a great exercise for you in your faith, so print it out and try some of the days on!
It also has the 2nd page that has a Holy Week devotional, starting from Palm Sunday.
Our hope is this resource helps you in your faith journey!
See you on Sunday night…

Did you know that you can connect with God over a meal with your friends, laughing and sharing food? Or that while you’re running? Or on your computer or iPhone? Did ou know that Christ wants to be active in your life not only when you’re in a church but on the bus, in class, stuck in traffic and YES, at awkward family get togethers?
He does. You can be connected to him wherever you are. Join us this month for a study on living a “wi-fi” life, meaning a life that is wirelessly connected to Jesus all the time. There are some issues that can mess up your signal but we’ll be nice and tell you what they are! If you’ve been to Resonate before, come on back! And if this is your first time, we look forward to seeing you.

This Sunday, join us at Resonate after a long Christmas holiday break in room 222 for SeXy SundaYs, which is a study on boys, girls and God, based on the Adam and Eve story with a touch on the Song of Solomon. The goal of the series is more than preventative information. It’s to give you the young adult a well-rounded view of God’s heart for THIS part of your life and we should live out this gift that he’s given us. There will be discussion times, teaching moments, a nice story time Q&A with Pastor Chris and Becca Chase and a great guest speaker in Pastor Jan Mokund of Converge Young Adults. It’s gonna be a GREAT January 2011!
Also, did you know that we pray? Cause we do! Check out our official prayer site right here. You can add requests, find out what you can pray for and more…
For this Sunday, come with an answer to the following question: What about the opposite gender bothers you the most?
How would the news get out? How would Mary and Joseph communicate?
Check out this creative video, which uses the power and influence of social media to share The most powerful message.
Merry Christmas from all of us at Resonate Post High Ministries.

Looking forward to skating with you!!!
Sunday night’s service titled” Pause. Ponder. Prepare.”, highlighted our need to stop and get our hearts ready this Christmas to share with those around us the gift of life as given to us by God the father, through His Son Jesus. We took time to reread the story of Christ’s birth, allowing the faithfulness of God to flood our very existence. Christ’s birth is a reminder that God is faithful to His promises to us (See Genesis 3:15 and then look back at the birth of Jesus…it’s soooo cool!) and that our salvation is sure. We were also encouraged to prepare our hearts and respond like Mary did in Luke 1:38 where she proclaimed “I am the Lord’s servant…may it be to me as you have said” (QUESTION TO PONDER: When’s the last time you’ve responded to a call from God like this? What are afraid to walk into today?). Our night was rounded out by moments of prayer and reflection through the reading of scripture and the lighting of advent candles, identifying with the anticipation of Christ’s coming to earth as a baby and our current anticipation of his soon return.
We left with a renewed sense of God’s love for us and how we need to be carriers of that same love to others, extending his kingdom beyond Christmas-time until He returns for us.
Note to highlight: “Let’s not live to simply keep the Christ in Christmas, but rather in every fabric and fiber our lives. He’s not relegated to one day…he’s not just our reason for the season, but breathing, laughing, growing, loving and enjoying every moment we’ve been given.”
Our night ended on the invitational songs of O Come All Ye Faithful and The Stand, a nice blend of praising the ‘One who gave it all’ forever’
Songs from last night: Hosanna (Praise is Rising), Glory to God Forever, This is Our God, O Come All Ye Faithful & The Stand
On Dec 19th, we’re hoping to have a Resonate Christmas Shindig at APC, filled with good times, prizes, laughs, food and lots of reasons to come! But instead of just doing something, what if we voted on it and did it THAT way? So here are some options
- Resonate Christmas Lunch following the 11 AM service. It’s in the day, then the nite can be used for…well, whatever you’d like.
- Resonate Minute-to-Win-It Christmas: Games based on the popular, youth pastor made show, food and laughs
- A simple night of food and sharing: Small table games, possible kareoke, sharing of stories, etc.
- Skating Downtown: We meet off-site, go for eats, dress up and have a good time on the ice downtown!
- Anything else! This is where you’d vote for other! So…what’s your fancy? Vote right here!
